Enough time has passed

So I have determined enough time has passed, so I can resume posting stuff on the blog. During the off period, I have made the following observations:

-The Giants appeared to have won this Superbowl thing, according to egan321
-The Brewers have started Spring Training and are heating up
-Ted Thompson fired the Packers Salary Cap guy
-I have viewed a few other blogs, and noted that they contained pictures of hot chicks (not nude or anything, just random postings of really hot chicks spread in between their ranting about sports) vs pics of Brett Favre
-I got a new TV
-I realized while complaining about Trek to Tim that my beef with Trek was not with Trek but with Wheel and Sprocket (they actually sold me the bike and then broke it while fixing, which is why I got the Cannondale since I had to go to a non-Wheel and Sprocket and the place did not sell Trek), so sorry Tim for the rant a few weeks ago
-The Office has not been new
-I started watching Arrested Development on HDnet, its pretty awesome (I never saw any episodes of this show)
-I purchased season 6 of Curb, its pretty funny so far
-And when I hear the term Three Time MVP, my brain processes the words "Brett Favre"

The Curse Of Egan

Chris Capuano has been searching for answers. An injury (here seen walking off the field with Rocky Caplinger), loss after loss, demotion to the bullpen, tough luck out of the bullpen all have piled up on the one-time allstar. Whose fault is it? Mostly one person: Egan. His man-crush post of Capuano came in mid-June. Yes, Cappy had been struggling at that point but he was still sporting a 5-5 record with a 4.35 ERA and 1 Home Run. Since then Crappy is 0-7 with a 6.49 ERA and not even one extra base hit.

Can Capuano's season be saved? Is there a chance he could step in for struggling Bush in the final weeks and make a difference and lead the Brewers to a key victory. Our only hope is that the curse can be reversed here.

Does ESPN the Magazine have a jinx?

I just went to the espn.com website and saw that Prince Fielder will grace the cover the August 13th issue. I definitely think Prince is a talent that the Milwaukee Brewers are lucky to have and hopefully can keep for a good portion of his career. I hope there isn't any sort of negative jinx associated with being on the cover of ESPN the Magazine. I was thinking about Prince though and any sort of jinx and honestly he has not really been playing great to begin with since the all-star break. I mean he has only hit two (2) home runs since the all-star break and had 12 RBIs through 22 games. The team's record is not as strong as it had been and the Brewers are now in a daily game of chicken between themselves and the dreaded Chicago Cubs to see who will be atop the division at the end of the day. Maybe his mug being on the cover of "the Mag" will propel him into an anti-jinx status where he begins playing out of his mind for the remainder of the year. Any thoughts?

At the cost of hearing every bobblehead story, ever, trades were discussed tonight with the Bobblehead guy. Since Vargas was pitching, I think all the stories only took one inning. I told him the two we need, and he said trading a Moore for a Thomas would be a piece of cake for you. He said if I get a blue in any of the remaining games, he will trade me a white and a Caldwell since he gets numerous per game and does not want me to miss just one. He actually seemed genuinely concerned that we were both short just one.


His advice was for me to get a Uecker ticket this Friday to get an extra Thomas to trade you for your Moore. He went into detail on where I need to go and what time, and included numerous standing in line stories. But I really don't want to become a bobblehead guy, so I may not.

Other notes:

3-1 in July so far to take the total season to 12-7. Trivia. Of the losses I have seen, how many of them were attended by Tim?

Who hates Milwaukee/Wisconsin more: Gary Sheffield (this goes way back), Javon Walker or Ji Hawwwwww?

A Segway to Capuano

Is it just me, or does it seem that a lot of women in Milwaukee are hopelessly infatuated with Chris Capuano to an almost unhealthy level. I work with one girl who has more pictures of Capuano up in her cubicle wall than she does of her boyfriend of five years. This girl really knows a little too much about him, since she also knows where he lives in downtown Milwaukee. This girl recently taped in High Definition (HD) the episode of The Young and the Restless to see Chris Capuano, Jeff Suppan, Bill Hall & J.J. Hardy make their acting debut that aired on June 20. I also got some behind the scenes stuff off of YouTube about their appearance. I also recently read an article on OnMilwaukee.com about the top five places in Milwaukee that Chris Capuano likes to go out and eat at. This was brought to my attention by the Capuano stalker I work with. I now believe she will be trying to eat out at those restaurants when the team is in town to see if she can catch a glimse of the major league baseball player she says she would leave her boyfriend for. The only thing I would enjoy seeing Capuano do beside winning games as a Brewers pitcher would be riding around downtown Milwaukee on a segway!

My Letter to the Editor

“Aaron Beat Odds Bonds Cheats’em”. This was the sign I held up during the Tuesday night Brewer game, which was confiscated in the middle of the first inning by Miller Park security. I was not given a specific reason, I was simply told that it “was against MLB Policy” and that I could have it back at the end of the game. When I went to guest relations in the fourth inning to ask why the sign was taken, I was told the Brewers did not want signs that discussed steroid abuse and Barry Bonds. I asked, “where does my sign state that?” After a hard look at the sign, the response was, “It does not, someone just did not like your sign.” The official then stated something about the sign being against the fan code of conduct. I simply would like to know when the Brewers informed the public that they censored signs via their fan code of conduct, and I would also like to know why my sign was improper but the yelling, booing, swearing, heavy drinking, and flat out rude public behavior that occurred at the 12 games I have been to this year is deemed acceptable.

Was there ever any doubt?

I think Prince's inside the park home run on Sunday puts to bed any doubt that he would beat Randy in a foot race. He would not only beat him, he would crush him.

And I don't know about you guys, but I am pumped for Gallardo's start tonight. Also, my sister and I made my "Aaron Beat Odds Bonds Cheats'em" sign for Tuesday, so look for me on Sportscenter this Wednesday.

This is getting out of hand

So at the Brewers game Monday night versus the Cubs, things got out of hand in the bleachers. First off I will back track to the First and Second innings when the Brewers were putting guys on, the place was loud and rocking with Brewer fans. This was about the time that FIB family behind us (this guy was the definition of FIB) dumped a beer all over my sister's purse while their ADD kids kicked her in the back. Honestly, these people were awful, and I really did not expect them to apologize (which they did not), but I would think the D-Bag's wife who was directly behind my sister would at least mention something about the spill.

Anyway, after complaining about how overrated and overpaid Sorryano was (he was 2-2 at that point) and complaining that Pie (as in apple pie not Pi-a) was not in the GameDay (I'm not even a Cubs fan but I new he was called up on Sunday and that his name was not pronounced like the dessert), he took his kids to play games (obviously, the Brewers were winning). Without fail, he comes back after the Cubs take the lead singing the praises of the "best outfielder in the game today". At this point I realized what happened to the purse and threw my soak in wet GameDay programs under his chair in the hopes that he would slip and fall. I even thought about buying a soda (I don't drink soda) just so I could apologize to him after dumping it on him.

But the people in our section did worse. After cussing the guy out (which he deserved, but the Brewer fans did not need to sink to his level), to get the guy back they started making fun of his daughter since the D-Bad bought her a Brewer bat. At this point, even with how bad this guy deserved it, I was embarrassed by Brewer fans who would mock a 3 year old (granted they were teaching her to say Brett Favre is the best, which is true) just to get this guy.

All in all, the game sucked and a whole lot of the Cubs and Brewer fans sucked worse. Two kind of people who attend sporting events: people who support their team and people who go to antagonize the opposition and their fans. I honestly have to say it was probably the worst game I have been to.

On a side note, the White Sox fans are lucky they had the County Sheriffs versus the MPD. I saw some police really strong arm some Cubs fans (I think I even saw a '80's choke hold). Probably the only highlight other than the Prince Home Run.
