Tim,
I had just assumed the Cowboys would be the #1 team in the conference because the have a higher net points number, but realized after seeing your notes for week 4 that the SOV (Strength of Victory) is the official tiebreaker in this situation.
While I thought the Packers opponents winning percentage (5-11) was bad, the Cowboys is a mere (3-13) and two of the teams they have played (Miami & St. Louis) are 0-4. So does that make you think the Cowboys are merely padding their stats and really are not as strong as the media makes them out to be?
Yes, good catch, I actually went back and corrected Week 1 because I incorrectly was using net points as the tiebreaker. It's clearly a small sample, but I think it is overlooked that the Packers have already defeated 3 playoff teams from last year.
Another thing to keep an eye on is the possible closing of the gap between AFC/NFC; interconference games stand at 8-8 right now. The AFC East is apparently very top heavy and the AFC West is well just not heavy at all.
