I think the Badgers got worse case scenario out of this mess, but they can still make the best of it. Ideally, we would have got to play a team better than Arkansas, and been the underdogs. If they beat the hogs, they were supposed to. I was hoping for LSU or Florida (obviously before Florida clinched BCS)
Best case scenario. OSU beats Gators, Michigan beats USC, Wisconsin wins.
Except, I don't think the pollsters will put Wisconsin above the LSU/ND winner no matter what, which is crap. I also don't see Louisville losing and/or dropping below Wisconsin. I am worried Oklahoma could pass us too, we'll see.
Top 5 finish is still outstanding, unfortunately if they lose, they'll probably be seen as paper lions and fall pretty significantly. Again, that's why I'd prefer to be the underdog in almost situations going into a bowl game.
Pelsi, alot of attention to the individuals in this game, why? College football it don't matter.

Tim, just worried about losing key individuals. I understand its a team game.
I was trying to determine the exact team that hosed us out of the BCS, which I feel is Notre Dame. Also, I watched the Arkansas game, and they looked good. I think they would have won with a healthy McFadden or if they would not have thrown so much with thier QB. Florida should get stomped in the championship game, but a radio guy brought a good point: why should Michigan get to play for the title when they already lost to OSU, or in other words, why should OSU have to beat Michigan twice to win the title and Michigan only beat them once? I do not have the answer to the college football problem.
Solution for now...
Use BCS Standings...
OSU v. LSU in Rose Bowl
Florida v. Michigan in Sugar Bowl
Winners play a week later.
Orange Bowl Oklahoma v. Boise St. or LSU
Fiesta Bowl Wake Forest v. Louisville
6 conference winners + the 2 highest ranked at-large (using existing rules that leaves Michigan/LSU/Boise St, depending on what rules you use, you might have to include Boise)
Take top 4, 1 vs 4, 2 vs 3, winners play 2 weeks later.
This doesn't change any other bowls, nor does it not give anyteam a chance to play its way in.
Then after about 10 years and this consistently failing, we'll use the top 8 and play 2 extra weeks.
Then ultimately 16 teams, with all conference winners.
Agreed Arkansas is VERY good. They have 3 losses though, and if Wisconsin beats them, they were "supposed" to, for Wisconsin to move up significantly and get respect, they needed to play the best available team (which they maybe) but also the best record/ranking out there.
Pelsi, If I remember correctly we are playing the second best available team based on the BCS standings (only Auburn is a higher rated team not in a BCS bowl game). Also, the initial line on the Capital One Bowl had Arkansas favored by 2.5.
