I was wondering

Is Joe Krabbenfoft the Badgers' best player?

Will he fall in line with Badger greats...

Alando Tacker?
Devin Harlis?
Mike Kalley?
John Briant?
Sean Macian?
Mike Fimley?

Look at all the choices before we add in a bunch of junk.

Is anyone else getting an Anthony Mason vibe? We have a great core group of infielders and a 3 year window to win. I don't like the names of some of the pieces they are throwing around to complement them.

American Gladiators

After seeing the commercial on NBC about the decision to bring back the early 1990s television gameshow, Amercian Gladiators, I was thinging of who would be a great feature athlete to replace the guys with names like Nitro, Turbo and Laser in the updated 21st century version. I recommend our own blog administrator, Tim, tryout to become one of the next featured athletes. If he made it, we would need to figure out what his featured athlete name should be, how about Tireiron...

From what I read online, it appears the new American Gladiators will follow eight gladiators -- four men and four women -- as they take on contestants both male and female. This time, in a new wrinkle, the players will be given the opportunity to train for their match -- and viewers will be given a glimpse of their personalities prior to the actual competish. So if you don't make it as a featured athlete, you would have the ability to train and take on the featured athletes to get redemption! Thoughts?

Sportsman of the Year

Just confirming Rotz's e-mail from last week that he hear through some six degrees of separation that due to Brett Favre's standout season for the resurgent Green Bay Packers. Brett has earned the title of 2007 Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year, making him the fourth quarterback to win the award in its 53-year history.

Congratulations Brett!!

If the Playoffs started Today, Week 13

NFC
1 Cowboys
2 Packers
3 Seahawks (head-head over Tampa Bay)
4 Buccaneers
5 Giants
6 Cardinals (Detroit division record over Minnesota, Arizona head-head over Detroit)

AFC
1 Patriots
2 Colts
3 Steelers
4 Chargers
5 Jaguars
6 Browns (conference record over Titans)

All EIGHT divisions can be wrapped up this weekend. The AFC leaders need a win and help (sans Patriots who've already clinched.) The NFC's 1-4 need just a win.

My "Negative Comments" Email to the NFL

Subject: Negative Comments (this is in the drop down menu on NFL.com)

I recently was able to watch a game on the NFL Network (Packers/Cowboys), and after having to watch/listen to Bryant Gumbel, Chris Collinsworth, and Deon Sanders for 3 hours, I am glad that my cable provider does not offer the NFL Network because I would not watch games due to the poor quality of the people listed above. Shape up and get some actual people that are interesting, understand the sport, and know the names of the players and coaches, and maybe I will fill out your "I want the NFL Network" email. I sure don't want it in its current form.
And another thing, go back and watch the officials in that Packers/Cowboys game and start holding them accountable for their poor performance (i.e. Owens fumble, pass interference call on Tramon Williams, offensive pass interference not called on Witten or Owens, and lack of 15 yard unsportsmanlike conduct calls on the Cowboys for taunting, just to name a few).
Thanks,
